Doctors Involved In Potential Torture Medical professionals should not interrogate prisoner by abusing the Military Commissions Act of 2006. The â€Å"to do no harm† oath occurs in all health care field that takes place in some way or form before entering into the health care field. In my personal experience working at the retail pharmacy as a pharmacy technician my goal is to help the patients’ lives by giving them the correct prescription that is required. As I become a pharmacist my role is to communicate effectively with the patients by mentioning when to take the medication and give the side effects of certain medication and build a strong relationship with the community. If the prisoners are not beaten then they will still have healthy live because happiness can’t be replaced with health of an individual. â€Å"Bentham provided us with seven quantitative variables that he believed gave this ethics a predictive power. The more effort we put into considering the intensity, duration, certainty, proximity, fecundity, purity, and extent of the consequences, the more precisely we can compare options and actions. The first six of these variables are generally straightforward (â€Å"certainty† often playing a key factor), but the seventh variable of â€Å"extent† forces us to imagine the consequences of our actions on other people† (Snider, Lecture). In this situation, I do not know how people are certain on how we torture these prisoners, there can be a possibility that they will speak up and give the information’s that were looked upon. John Stuart Mill had some ideas that can be added to Jeremy Bentham’s thoughts. â€Å"Mill defines happiness as a set of higher-order pleasures such as intellectual, aesthetic, and social enjoyments rather than mere sensual pleasure† (EHC 33). Mill’s definition of happiness explains the everyday situations that each person’s happiness must be considered equally.
